How to Attempt a Club Record

Cannon Hill District Amateur Swimming Club maintains detailed records of all swimming achievements. Swimmers are welcome to attempt to break a Club Record during Club Nights and to ensure fairness and accuracy, swimmers must adhere to the following criteria:

  • The swimmer must be a registered and financial member of the Club.
  • The swimmer must notify the President by 6pm on Club Night of the event they wish to attempt.
  • The swimmer’s age on the day of the record attempt will be used for record classification.
  • The swimmer must have previously swum within 1.00 second of the existing record time for the chosen event.
  • Two timekeepers must be assigned to the swimmer’s race for the record to be officially recognised.
  • Sprint Night and Club Championships always have two timekeepers and are automatically monitored for record-breaking performances.

Once a request is accepted, the President will inform the Chief Timekeeper and Chief Registrar and Recorder, who will arrange for double timing and appropriate lane allocation for the swimmer’s record attempt.
